AN OPEN LETTER BY A COMMON KASHMIRI TO ALL INDIANS

Compiled By: As Addy
To live in a fool`s paradise is bliss but for how long??

Dear Indians,

Feel the pulse of The Kashmiri people, are they really talking about supporting you and other political parties supported/protected by India or are they talking about ways to counter the Indian occupation despite the fact that the whole world these days seems to be with the Indian opinion including the Government in Pakistan. The supporters of National Conference/PDP and other Indian political parties are seen as enemies (agents of India) by an overwhelming majority of Kashmiri people
To make you guyz understand my point try answering or at least giving a thought to these Questions:

1) Are these 7.2 million Kashmiri people crazy?

I mean why keep fighting against a country that is 1.3 billion strong and an army which is arguably one of the 10 best in the world plus an economy that is growing at 9 percent annually (PHENOMENAL GROWTH). Now a mind that can make those beautiful silk and wool rugs/carpets which have a language of their own, those exquisite wood-carvings, that ethereal papier-mâché box, that intricate khatamband on your ceiling, those exotic samovars in copper or that delicate Pashmina shawl with fabulous embroidery is surely highly evolved and intelligent. Why then are these kashmiri people so stupid and not see what you indians are showing them?

2)What do you think needs to be done by you or the other Indians/politicians to change this attitude/belief in the majority of Kashmiri people?

3) What is this subconscious feeling that gives these people a ludicrous sentiment called “Aazadi” despite their numerous shortcomings when it comes to actually getting that “Aazadi”?

4) In a world where energy costs are soaring will you Indians ever be able to tap the full potential of Kashmiri people without changing the Indus Water treaty as it stands today? Haven’t you grossly wronged us here?

5) And will India/Pakistan ever let you change this ridiculous treaty because to do that they would have to give Kashmir an independent status first?

6)Does this mean that we have to forever live in perpetual darkness at the cost of being totally dependent on these nations for all our essential commodities/services/progress?

7) Why is it that in Kashmir even a small child in an expensive private public school is more likely to support the Pakistan cricket team than the Indian team??

8 )All these people know that Pakistan is nothing better than India, maybe even worse but still they keep on cheering the Pakistan team!!!!! Why? I mean India has almost 300 million Muslims living inside it. Why then do these Kashmiris have this crazy sentiment of supporting your enemy? Surely it can’t be the Muslim sentiment as in that case they should be supporting India which has many more Muslims?

9) Is singing the Indian National Anthem or performing the great Indian rope trick going to help you Indians change the mindset of these foolish Kashmiri people? Why is it then that even after being with India for 60 years, Kashmiri people still want independence?

10)Do you need to change their ideology by giving them an even stronger ideology or are these people (who over the ages have been Pagans, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists and now Muslims) refractive to your promise of a better future?

11) Or is it that “As these people are NOT listening to your ideology/viewpoint, then why not do what you have been doing for the last 60 years or so” i.e. with the help of your brutal/barbaric Indian army continue beating the sh*t out of them till these stupid peasants stop complaining and start following your democratic view-point??

12) OR IS IT TIME MY DEAR INDIAN THAT YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOURSELF?????

Kashmiris although small in numbers vis a vis India are an intelligent people, do not underestimate their resilience and periods of silence as a sign of weakness. The recent protests are not a once upon a time kind of phenomenon on the contrary, it is a continual warning, a declaration, a gale force wind before the actual storm. Change is constant as life itself is dynamic, the ones who adapt and change will be the ones who survive. Kashmiris have survived a millennium as kashmiris. Chances are that they will survive this particular onslaught too, or in other words you may be surrounded by a few immoral kashmiri supporters and hindutva fanatics who make you feel that your current path is the right one but at the end of the day these supporters are nothing but greedy opportunistic individuals only interested in forwarding their own private causes at the expense of their honest, trustworthy and hard-working fellow kashmiris.

A simple god-fearing individual in Kashmir/jammu is not voting for you because he/she loves india and respects its constitution. He is voting for you because at the moment the poor downtrodden fella has no other option and he needs to survive the moment he gets to cast a neutral vote, he will let you and all the other indian politicians know what he thinks of you, india and your pseudo-democratic ideology!!!!!!!!

Today, my dear human Indian, when you get time, look at yourself in a mirror, ask your soul/conscience a simple question .Are you Indians doing the right thing in Kashmir? If your conscience is not prejudiced, you will get the right answer.

TWEET CHICKS AND FEARLESS GEELANI

So did read his tweet, “I do not want him (Geelani) to become a hero”. Omar Abdullah tweeted this in response to the Geelani’s program of offering the prayers in absentia for Osama Bin Laden. He claimed that it was he who made a hero out of him although unintentionally. Putting him under house arrests frequently prior to some of his public programs has made him a living martyr was, what Omar Abdullah was trying to convey. So, he did not arrest him that day. He allowed him to preside over the program. Geelani offered prayers in absentia along with thousands of his supporters in one of the uptown localities of Srinagar city. So far so good. Omar kept his promise this time. Indian media gave a great coverage to this event. Web portals of Indian newspapers ran the story on their front pages with headlines like, “Geelani prays for Osama” and “Osama is a martyr: Geelani”. Indian news channels ran the story on the prime time quite unlike of their usual black out of Geelani’s other public programs. Well, Indian media had a reason to cheer about at this unusual event hosted by Geelani. Again a rarity of sorts. They wanted to convey to US and Europe that Kashmiris are mourning for the enemy of the civilized world. Indian media could not have behaved otherwise, as we all know. Geelani Sahib also knew about this. But he did not cancel the program. Why did not he avoid such a controversial event? Simple, he did not avoid this event because he is not a hypocrite. Some say he lacks statesmanship. He should have shown some wisdom and avoided offending the West. Well does the West care about the rest? Have they ever thought about our sensibilities? Have they ever given us a reason to cheer? No they never give a damn to us.

Kashmiris are very sensitive people. When Indian security forces were killing innocent Kashmiris in 2010 and even before that, West always closed its eyes on Kashmiris. Kashmir is not so important for them because Kashmir does not possess oil wells and Kashmir has got no call centers filled with cheap cyber slaves. We have only one thing in us and that is our faith that, Western world will come to our rescue. Our faith should have been on something real and not on something so unreal. Our faith should be on our own abilities.

Whether it was a statesman like or not but I am sure it was an honest decision from Geelani to offer prayers for a person who was a fellow Muslim and who was killed in the cold blood. He was not even offered a burial but was thrown into the sea. Geelani offered prayers for a person whose body was not even handed over to his family members. He did not offer it for the enemy of the West. He offered it for a Muslim. It was purely a religious matter. Keeping aside the Indian media, shameful was the response of our own fellow intellectuals who usually pen down their pathetic judgments in the vernacular press. They criticized Geelani in their own peculiar way. Sajad Lone in one of his tweets called Geelani the biggest diplomatic victory for India.

What Geelani did was what he believed in and what they are doing is not what they are in reality. Hypocrites cannot hide their hypocrisy under the mask of intellectualism.

Coming back to Omar Abdullah. He tweeted that he was not going to arrest Geelani as arresting him makes a Hero. Well that statement was actually made to calm down those who were questioning the logic of allowing Geelani to proceed for the gathering. Basically Omar Abdullah wanted to make Geelani a Villain. Indian media picked up the plot and acted promptly but these media men forgot to cover another such gathering of Muslims who too were offering prayers for Osama. These people were so near to them but they preferred to go for Geelani instead. Shahi Imam of Jamia Masjid, Delhi too presided over the prayers in absentia for Osama but he is not any Geelani who will be given the coverage. Since then Omar Abdullah has not allowed Geelani to attend any of his programs. His lies are always overexposed. On all the occasions Geelani was put under the usual house arrest. Omar Abdullah did what his masters asked him to do but in doing so he has again reminded us that he is the real villain. It is beyond the capacity of a villain to create a hero. Only courage creates a Hero. And Geelani has got that courage in abundance. Those who fear Allah only are always feared. So do Omar Abdullah and other people of his ilk fear the God fearing Geelani. I am not referring to Sajad Lone here. Am I?

Thy Name is Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah is a unique specie. He is deeply confused about his origins and his taxonomy. He keeps hovering between a lunatic and a imbecile. Sometimes he is a psycho and sometimes he can even surpass Jason the executioner in barbarism. He has no religion and no cultural loyalty. Below are my top ten comparisons of Farooq Abdullah. I am being completely unbiased.

1. Farooq Abdullah And Jason Voorhees: Jason is the main villain in Friday the Thirteenth Movies. He kills without remorse and basks in the blood he sheds. He has several favorite weapons such as Machete, Iron Hooks, Chainsaws etc. He wears a mask most of the time which covers his face due to rotten flesh. Farooq Abdullah and Jason are closely related. Both are Killers and fear mongers. Both wear masks and both are violent beyond imagination.

2. Farooq Abdullah and Dracula: Dracula does not need many introductions. He is blood thirsty vampire and brutal killer with a mix of insanity. Dracula's favorite weapons are shape shifting and of course his fangs. Farooq Abdullah and He has blood thirst in common and both need blood to sustain their existence. Both will go to any length to acquire the blood. They will lie, deceive and coerce people to die and then drink their blood.

3. Farooq Abdullah and Dr. Evil: Dr Evil is bent on world domination and wants it get it no matter what is takes. He trusts nobody around him and will do anything to make people submit to him. But everyone knows he belongs to an asylum. Well Farooq Abdullah and Dr. Evil each have a son and the wonderful thing is that both their sons are weaklings and bastards. Scott Evil and Umar Abdullah are like carbon copies of each other.

4. Farooq Abdullah and Hannibal Lecter: This is a perfect match. Hannibal like to skin people alive, so does Farooq Abdullah. Hannibal eats human brains so does Farooq Abdullah by singing those awful Bhajans. Both are extremely ugly and repulsive. And both like to play mind games with disastrous results. Hannibal is smart though, can't say the same thing for Farooq Abdullah.

5. Farooq Abdullah and Darth Vader: Darth Vader terrifies people by just being bad. Farooq Abdullah terrifies people by just being ugly. Darth Vader is a legendary villain in Star Trek and Farooq Abdullah is a legend for his non-sense.

6. Farooq Abdullah and Gabbar Singh: This had to be in the list. How can we not compare these two when they have so much in common. Gabbar Singh terrifies children (Remember the phrase " Sou Jaa Nahin to ..") and in Kashmir Farooq Abdullah terrifies Saifudin Soz, and other puppets who do his bidding in Srinagar. Both have side kicks of same standard. Gabbar had Samba and Farooq Abdullah has Sahai.

7. Farooq Abdullah and George Bush: I decided to include one non-fictional character comparison so that we can replace them with each other and might not find much difference. Both Bush and Farooq Abdullah are liars, cheaters and killers. They both want to get rich through illegal means and are prone to corruption. They both like to blame people without any proof and get away with it. Both are handled by their masters. Bush was handled by Jewish Lobby and Farooq Abdullah is handled by his Indian masters.

8. Farooq Abdullah and Sauron: Lord of the Rings Villain will always be my favorite. Just because he is not there and yet manages to frighten people who have powerful elves, wizards, and swordsmen. Imagine an Eye controlling the destiny of everyone. Farooq Abdullah and Sauron are both heard in their reptile like voices and both are hardly ever visible. But when they are they foolish language makes them comics instead of villains.

9. Farooq Abdullah and Voldermot: OK I admit I cheated on that One. Voldermot came to my mind after I wrote about Sauron. Anyway Voldermot destroys everything that is good in this world and manages to acquire tremendous powers through his cronies. So did Farooq Abdullah. While Voldermot is a racist so is Farooq Abdullah. He hates Kashmiris and Likes Indians which is a known fact. Voldermot uses snake to kill his enemies, Farooq Abdullah uses the snakes imported from India.

10. Farooq Abdullah and Andrew Ryan (Bioshock): Anybody who has played Bioshock will tell you what an awful but brilliant character Ryan was. He built a magnificent city only to have it destroyed by his stupidity. Farooq Abdullah also destroyed the valley by his evil practices even when he did not even do anything for Kashmir. He is instrumental for the corruption and chaos that we see in Kashmir today. Ryan and Farooq Abdullah both do not fully understand the consequences of their activities. Ryan's city become chaos with people killing each other and Farooq Abdullah manages to have an enormous security forces on our heads which kills us mercilessly.

Ps. I apologize to the villains mentioned above in case they are offended to have been compared with a despicable character like Farooq Abdullah

HAWAL MASSACRE "21 MAY 1990" - My son was shot dead infront of me

“They started entering houses and shooting people at point blank range,” Ghulam Qadeer Baig recalls that fateful day of May 21, 1990, which is remembered as Hawal massacre in the collective memory of Kashmiris. The killings by the Border Security Force troopers took place on a day when people were participating in the funeral procession of Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq. Ghulam Qadeer’s brother-in-law, Farooq A hmad Baig, son of Mohammad Abdullah Baig, was among the 67 people killed in the Hawal massacre – one of the worst massacres in Kashmir’s recent history. “I still remember it like it was yesterday,” Qadeer recalls. “How could I forget it?
We were helpless and at the mercy of those who had come to kill us,” he says and then lapses into a melancholic silence. Clogged by memories that come back to haunt him, he needs these pauses to recollect his thoughts.
His wife, Parvaiza, chips in when her husband fails to express his pain. “My brother was one among the people killed that day,” she says. He was participating in the funeral procession of Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq. “He was just paying his respects to a dead man,” she says. “Why did they have to kill him?”
Recounting the events of that day, she says, “On hearing gun-shots, many people ran and hid themselves in a neighbour’s house. I was one among them. That is why I could not see my brother being killed.” Casting a longing glance at the picture of her brother, Parvaiza is torn between the consolation of not having to bear the sight of her brother being shot in front of her eyes, and the regret of not being able to see him alive for the last time. Although Ghulam Qadeer has survived that horrific day, he hasn’t been able to come out of it without scars. He says the BSF troopers entered his neighbour’s house and shot him and his son, and then their house was set on fire.
The troopers next barged into Basheer Ahmad Baig’s house. “They killed him and his two sons,” says Qadeer. “His wife was also shot in the chest, but she survived along with their third son.”
The names of the victims and the number of people killed that day may change, but there’s one common feature in all the memories of survivors: troopers barging into people’s homes and shooting civilians, and not even sparing women and children.

“My son, who was ten years old then, was also shot at by the BSF troopers,” says Qadeer. “But thanks to Allah, the bullets missed him and hit the wall behind him,” he says. “The troopers also came towards me. I was sitting in this very room, with my young daughter in my lap,” he recalls sitting in his room. One of the troopers placed the barrel of his gun on Qadeer’s chest. “But he eventually changed his mind and did not shoot me,” he says.
Parvaiza’s sobs are the only intermittent sounds in her room. The silence that fills the room is deafening. Abdul Farooq’s mother, Makhta Begum, 60, enters the room.
“They came and snatched him from my arms. The troopers followed Farooq Ahmad right from the procession to his house. When he came in, his mother heldhim close to her chest -- to protect him. “He was shot in front of me,” Makhta Begum recalls that day when her son was killed. She recounts that day in a matter of fact tone, as if she is bereft of all feelings and emotions. Later, the Beig family went to the Nowhatta police station and lodged a complaint against the troopers. “One of the BSF trooper’s cap fell in our home. The name inscribed on it was Pokhla. We took it to the police station and lodged a complaint against the trooper,” says Qadeer. But the trooper was suspended from duty only for six months.
Pokhla’s suspension could not bring them justice. If anything, it made their lives even worse. “We complained in the hope that he would be jailed and
justice would be done to us,” says Parvaiza. “But they only suspended him for some time,” she says. “He was living in the area around our house and we did not want to face the consequences of standing up against a trooper.”
The family eventually had to move out of the locality and shift to Pampore in Pulwama district. They were on the move for about ten years, constantly shift
ing to Zoonimar and Soura. It cost Ghulam Qadeer his livelihood. “We lost our business and are living like paupers now,” says Ghulam Qadeer whose back problem restricts him from taking up regular jobs.

Eventually, they had to return to their own home in Hawal, where the ghosts of May 21, 1990 still haunt the family....

Srinagar On 21th MAY

Authorities have imposed restrictions on civilian movement in Srinagar’s old parts to stall the Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat rally at Eid Gah today. The rally was part of Hurriyat’s week-long programme on the death anniversaries of Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq and Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone

This is for the first time that the authorities decided against allowing the Hurriyat amalgam to take out a rally on the occasion. The decision not to allow the rally at Eidgah was taken at a high level meeting of police, intelligence and civil administration officials late on Friday evening.

Sources said that th decision came after Mirwaiz announced that Hurriyat Conference would lay a foundation for a Martyrs Memorial at the Eidgah graveyard. Some senior civil administration and police officials visited Mirwaiz’s residence on Friday night and asked him not to go ahead with the construction of the memorial. But after refusal from the Mirwaiz to fall in line, the authorities decided to impose ban on the rally.

Last year (2010), Syed Ali Geelan, chairman of the other faction of the Hurriyat, also announced to build a martyrs’ memorial wall at Eid Gah, which government foiled by imposing curfew restrictions in the city.

Eyewitness as also local residents, who could be reached over phone, said that strict curfew has been imposed in dozens of localities including Rajouri Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Saraf Kadal, Safa Kadal, Eid Gah, Nawa Kadal, Nowhatta, Hawal and other areas. They said that police and CRPF have been deployed in strength to curb the peoples’ movement.

Reports said that groups of angry youth defied restrictions at Nowhatta and pelted stones on police and CRPF. Clashes between angry youth and police were reported at Bohri Kadal and Rajouri Kadal as well.

The uptown areas of the city are paralysed under a shutdown. While all the shops and business house are closed, private transports however ply normally.

Police are reported to have arrested several youth in Srinagar during nocturnal raids on Friday. Senior JKLF leader Javaid Mir was arrested from his Zaiana Kadal house and lodged in Maharaj Ganj Police Station. Talking to Honour over phone he said that some half a dozen local youth had also been rounded up by police and lodged in police station.

Earlier police placed Syed Ali Geelani under house arrest on Thursday to thwart him from holding a public rally at Islamabad. Geelani has announced to hold public rallies at all district headquarters to press for the release of political prisoners. According to Geelani, around 1500 Kashmiri political leaders and youth are presently languishing in jails.

JKLF chairman Yasin Malik was also taken into custody on Friday to prevent him from addressing a public rally at Kangan.

India admits blunder and withdraws Pakistan 'Most Wanted' list

India on Friday withdrew a public list of most-wanted fugitives it wants Pakistan to extradite after discovering at least one of them was in a prison, the latest embarrassment for a government hit by corruption scandals and political slip-ups.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said it had failed to update its records after one accused was arrested in 2010, meaning his name remained on a list handed over to Islamabad this March.
It is a setback for the government that has long accused Islamabad of aiding militant groups for attacks on India, including the 2008 Mumbai raids. The list was originally seen as adding pressure on Pakistan to act.
A second person on the list sent to Pakistan was earlier traced by local media to his home in western Maharashtra state. Another person on the website was extradited from Bangladesh to India in October, media reported.
Officials including Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram, who initially laughed off reports of errors in the list, admitted responsibility.
"Error has been accepted. Responsibility will be fixed for the mistake," Internal Security Secretary U.K. Bansal told reporters.
The list included names of five Pakistani army men, the first time India has formally accused the powerful military of aiding militant attacks on India.
The embarrassment is a personal blow to Chidambaram, seen as one of the more efficient ministers in Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's team, and it sparked calls for his resignation from the Hindu nationalist main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party.
It is also a setback for a Congress-led coalition government that has been perceived to be out of touch with the people due to its lumbering response to a series of high-profile graft cases and soaring prices.
The Congress party too has painted itself into a corner this week. Rahul Gandhi, seen as a prime minister in waiting, claimed the opposition-ruled Uttar Pradesh killed and incinerated farmers protesting against a $2 billion highway plan through their lands.
The claims came under immediate criticism from both the state government and media, which cast doubt on his charges. Many commentators said the controversy was a setback for Gandhi's campaign to portray himself as a future leader of India.
